According to my Mom, Kathleen in the dictionary of baby names means “soft-haired.” I guess that’s the reason why I am this close to dropping that name altogether, but I definitely can see why Tita Arlene would give that name to her daughter.

@margimadness: Digital photography is amazing, but I do hope you get to try film, in case you haven’t yet. Good luck with the move, btw. I’m sure you’ll find new friends in no time (even if it isn’t until next year). :)

For three years now, my family and I have made it a point to spend Christmas with the family of my Dad’s only brother who passed away more than a decade ago, the Danaos - Lola Aurora, her only daughter Tita Arlene and her husband Tito Olan with their kids - my cousins - Matthew and Kathleen.
I finally got around to starting on my film archiving project to preserve my Dad’s negatives from the 1970s until the 1990s, thanks to amazon.com and my good friend Mino for lugging two packs’ worth of archival plastic sheets from California to Manila for me.

Every year since she relocated to Singapore, my Bespren and I have made it a point to allot time for a day out. Last year’s was set on the 28th of December, just a day after our Grey Table holiday raincheck. What was on the agenda? Eating, shopping, and more eating.
